Event
On 8 March, the Château du Clos de Vougeot will host the 65th edition of the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges Wine Auction. This emblematic auction will take place on Sunday, 8 March at 3:00 p.m. at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.
For the second consecutive year, the sale is organised by iDealwine, France's leading wine auction house and the world leader in online wine auctions. This 65th edition marks a turning point for the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges Wine Auction.
The Charity Lot
This year, the charity lot is a Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru. For this edition, the funds raised will be collected through a subscription-based offering, without auction, in support of the association Ani'nomade. Founded in 2010 and based in Côte-d'Or, Ani'nomade is a pioneer in the field of animal-assisted therapy. The funds raised during the auction will help finance the development of the association's indoor and outdoor facilities located in Plombières-lès-Dijon. Designed as a place for welcoming, sharing and inclusion, the site will offer playful and adapted spaces, notably enabling access for people with reduced mobility.
The Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges
The Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges estate covers an area of 12.4 hectares spread across the communes of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Premeaux-Prissey, Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin. It is composed mainly of wines from the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation, including eight village-designated single-parcel wines and nine Premier Crus, thus covering a large part of the slopes and terroirs of the appellation.
This vineyard allows the production of 19 cuvées, including a monopoly appellation, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru "Les Didiers". This enables us to offer buyers cuvées that, year after year, express the unique characteristics and subtleties of each individual parcel. These wines appeal both to those who favour fine and elegant styles and to those seeking greater structure and power.
To complement this range of Nuits-Saint-Georges Red wines, we also produce a Gevrey-Chambertin Village cuvée, which is balanced and generous. Although all these red wines are produced from a single grape variety, Pinot Noir, they share the expression of complex aromas and the roundness of their tannins, even in their youth.
Finally, a few ares planted on the slope allow us to offer a Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru White for sale, a confidential wine due to the small quantities produced. Made from the Chardonnay grape variety, it reveals floral and fruity aromas and offers greater roundness than minerality on the palate.
